Okay, yes it rains sometimes, but you get that in a subtropical climate, and that rain helps beautiful fruit and produce to grow.
We don’t do snow or sub-zero temperatures, so you won’t need to pack your full-length winter coat.
Summer - December to February.
Northland enjoys a subtropical climate.
Northland in summer: golden beaches fringed by pohutukawa trees, warm sunshine and happy,relaxed holiday makers. Feast on plump seafood, fresh summer fruits and Northland’s fine wines.

Autumn - March to May.
The arrival of autumn in the subtropical north is more subtle than in other parts of New Zealand. The warmth of summer lingers although evenings approach a little earlier and can get a little cooler.

Winter - June to August.
As a winter destination Northland offers more than you might think – apart from being so much warmer than the rest of the country, it’s a wonderful place to explore and experience anytime of the year.

Spring - September to November.
Spring in subtropical Northland brings life to the senses - fragrant early blooms, the song of native birdlife, exotic tastes of fresh fruits and seafood and the warming sun on your skin.
