The win continues a trend of recent accolades for the restaurant located inside one of Northland’s iconic heritage buildings. In 2006 chef and co-owner Fiona Stark
created Northland’s best Regional Platter, followed by the 2007 Lonely Planet Travel Guide which praised her for “one of the best meals you’ll have in New Zealand”.

Sahara Restaurant of Paparoa has won Northland’s top food award in a regional competition focused on quality dining experiences.
Sahara is a very cool place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon - especially when they’re having one of their Sunday music sessions.
