Waitangi Treaty Grounds is the scene of the 1840 signing of the Treaty of Waitangi

Treaty House, Ngati Kawa Treaty House, Ngati Kawa The grounds contain the Treaty House, a Maori Meeting house, one of the largest Maori waka (war canoe) in New Zealand, a gallery and an excellent visitors’ centre. 

You’ll want at least half a day to absorb the beauty and history of the site – the guided tours and daytime entertainment are recommended, as are the excellent Maori cultural performances in the evenings.

Adjacent to the Treaty Grounds is the Waitangi Golf Course. This wonderful course is located in a wonderful setting with majestic ocean views.
