West Coast
Wild windswept harbours, ancient kauri forests and historic country towns, the West Coast is full of history. Hokianga, Kaipara and Waipoua may be names you are familiar with but as you travel around you'll discover stories of shipwrecks, kauri logging and gum digging, the pioneering days and the stories of Northland's early settlement.

East Coast & Bay of Islands
The Bay of Islands and The Poor Knights Islands marine reserve are well known features of this, the most developed part of Northland. The city of Whangarei, historic gems such as the Scottish settlement at Waipu, and the beautiful Whangaroa Harbour add to the diversity of this part of the region.
