Kayaking to Haruru Falls, Bay of Islands

Kayaking is one of the many water based activities in the Bay of Islands.

Haruru means ‘big noise’, which is a good indication that these unusual, horseshoe-shaped falls are worth seeing. Maori legend says that a taniwha (water monster) lives in the lagoon below the falls.
