Tara Lodge

The owners, Les and Liz Holsted, have an extraordinary passion for sharing their home with guests. They’re fun-loving, sociable people who love nothing more than to join their guests in great conversation and laughter, but they also know that there are times when guests may want to be alone.  Share pre-dinner drinks with Les and Liz beside the cozy fireside before your home cooked dinner which, for many guests, is the highlight. After complimentary drinks by the fireside at Tara Lodge on Saturday night, you will be driven to the Frog and Kiwi Restaurant for dinner.  Sample the Winter Special menu at this local French restaurant with a kiwi twist.

Your hosts will prepare a picnic basket of local produce for you to take with you on Saturday to enjoy at your leisure as you explore Mangawhai and the local countryside.  Pop over to the local vineyard for complimentary wine tasting, check out the local markets, sample homemade goodies, explore the local craft shops, stroll along the glorious beaches.  Magical Mangawhai for your romantic winter escape.
