  Whangarei District ››

  Whangarei District covers the south eastern part of the Northland region. It has an area of 270,000 hectares and includes coast and islands on the east of the North Island.

  Kaipara District ››

  The Kaipara District has a population of of approximately 18,000 residents and has a land area of just over 300,000 hectares. The district begins at about an hours drive north of Auckland. It stretches to the east coast and the South Pacific Ocean and across to the west coast and Tasman Sea.
