Community Activator Role

Northland Inc, the Economic Development Agency for Northland is expanding and we are recruiting for a Community Activator for our new collaborative workspace, The Orchard, in Whangarei.

This is a new and exciting venture and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to co-create the job as we move forward and test out our assumptions for the role. You'll be the primary person responsible for attracting new members into our fold, making sure the space operates smoothly, events go off without a hitch and that our members are happy.

You will responsible for the day-to-day operations and tasked with developing and championing the culture within the collaborative space. You'll need to be passionate about curating a community and a space that enables both personal and business growth of the members and their enterprises. The successful applicant needs to be willing to help with anything from organising events, collaborating on funding, training and workshop development, supporting connections within and outside of the workspace, setting up processes and getting information in and out of the space to build a well connected and informed community. You need to be a can-do person who is prepared to muck in and clean up the space if its needs it, and able to delegate where appropriate to members to build a supportive and pay-it forward mentality.

In order to be considered for the role you will need to have experience working in a fast paced environment, be a proven problem solver, highly motivated, personable and approachable along with being solutions focused. You must also be a confident communicator, social media savvy and have knowledge about collaborative environments.

The position is full time and will require the occasional evening and weekend work, however this is occasional and is shared as a team.
