Pioneer Village Silverdale

Silverdale Pioneer Village features period houses, historic displays, archives and an interesting collection of photographs from days gone by.

The Pioneer Village provides a time trail from the mid 1800s to the 1930s with a chapel, four houses, a post office, a museum and administration building, and gardens of the period. The houses contain furnishings and objects related to their times and the museum building display shows development of the local area, including Orewa and the Whangaparaoa Peninsula from Maori occupation to timber milling to gum digging and farming. There is also a large photographic collection and archive materials concerning families, institutions and activities. Open Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, 10:00am - 3:00pm
