- Paihia Viewpoint, Opua Forest 1.5Km 1 hour return This is a pleasant walk through regenerating native forest to a view point overlooking the Bay of Islands out to Cape Brett.
- Harrison’s Bush Scenic Reserve 1.4km 30 minutes one way. This walk is through some of the best native forest in the Bay of Islands.
- Paihia to Opua 5.8 km – 3 hours one way A pretty, well-maintained coastal track from Paihia to Opua.

- Paihia to Waitangi Walk - 45 - 60 minutes one way
A coastal walk featuring beaches, rocky headlands, cliff-top views over the Bay and abundant birdlife. Follow the broad sweep of Te Ti Beach past Te Ti Marae then follow the shoreline past the Treaty House and skirting the Waitangi Golf Club.

Waitangi to Haruru Falls - 6km - 2.5 hours one way

This is a sheltered walk from the Treaty Grounds at Waitangi, along the bush-clad banks of the Waitangi River to Haruru Falls. The track is suitable for families but can be slippery in places after heavy rain . The walk leaves on the opposite side of the road from the Treaty Grounds. There is ample parking for cars.
- Ruapekapeka Pa – Length: 500m Time: 15 mins.
16km south of Kawakawa, this was the site of the last Northland land war between Ngapuhi warriors and the British. Interpretive signs explain the significance of trenches and dug-outs.
