Whangarei Mid Winter Arts Festival - Daytime Events

A Celebration of the Arts and Culture in Northland

A transformed Forum North will host a collection of events and activities all weekend long! A chance to get creative, dance, enjoy and support the talent in our community and above all - have fun!

Main Stage - Performances in the Exhibition Hall.
Check online for the full programme of brilliant talent from across our community.

Garden Cafe – Enjoy delicious foods, perhaps a glass of wine or beer.

Festival Village – Get creative with arts and crafts; make a clock with Claphams National Clock Museum; paint a flag; 3-D cardboard art; face and body painting; candle dipping; paint a plate; poetry; recycled art.

Children’s Den – Story telling, magic, circus and performance.

Fantastic Frogs – Exploring nature through shows, story telling and puppet making with Kylie Penn, Gill Taylor and friends.

Children’s Play Village – Mini cottage and teepees. Festival fair games. Have some good old-fashioned fun!

Community Art Projects – Giant art in the Forum North Exhibition Hall – add your masterpiece to the wall in the hall; Massive lanterns – help create two enormous lanterns for the Lantern Parade; 1000 Whales for Whangarei – Fold an origami whale and help make 1000 whales; Sunday Gospel Hour – join in with the Gospel Choir on the Main Stage in Forum North on Sunday 1st August from 1pm

Plus – Free entry indoor arts market - festival shop - unplugged stages & performance.
