Home
‘Home’ is the intimate story of Johnnie and Maggie, two Scottish immigrants to New Zealand, set at the time of WWI and told through song and spoken word.
Using diary entries, letters and traditional Scottish songs the three performers of the Single Malt Cooperative bring their characters to life, shedding light on how Scottish immigrants brought their own identity, hopes and values to new lives in New Zealand.
‘Home’ was first produced by the Single Malt Cooperative at the 2010 Wellington Fringe Festival and has toured twice since then. Audiences throughout New Zealand have responded with laughter, tears and a strong connection to the history in the show.
During February 2012 ‘Home’ will tour to the Hamilton Garden Arts Festival (20-22 Feb), Titirangi Theatre in Auckland (24-25 Feb) and the Waipu Coronation Hall.
