Waipoua Lodge has an excellent reputation for its fine dining and a la carte menu. Co-owner and host, Fran Farrant is the self-taught chef behind the success and at the end of 2011 opened the Waipoua Lodge Cooking School. Fran's aim was to provide guests and non-guests the opportunity to learn some of the things which have made a huge difference to her cooking skills and her professional tips and freely passed on along with some of the lodge's recipes like the famous lemon souffle. Sessions are totally flexible and can be based on private/individual tuition, or group bookings. Rates are based on an hourly amount with practical aswell as theoretical skills included.
