Kaiwaka is the southern gateway of the Kaipara District offering a variety of shops, cafes and accommodation. Known as the 'little town of lights', at night time hundreds of twinkling lights welcome travellers.
A fantastic place to stop os at the Kaiwaka Cheese Shop. They have 52 cheeses, most of which are cut to order from the wheel the old fashioned way. Many of the cheeses are organic and there are several vegetarian options.
