Celebrating the art and architecture of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and contemporary Māori artists. Visitors will enjoy the unique architecture, exhibitions, theatre, afforested roof & museum shop. On the terrace is Aqua Cafe overlooking the marina.

The Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery is a multi-faceted immersive experience celebrating the art and architecture of Austrian painter, ecologist, architect and visionary, Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Visitors can experience architecture in harmony with nature including an Afforested Roof, be inspired by the largest collection of Hundertwasser artworks outside of Vienna as well as living examples of Hundertwasser’s ecological practices including the afforested roof and golden cupola. There is an option to take an interactive guided tour Thursday-Sunday at 11am. Housed within the Centre is the Wairau Māori Art Gallery, Aotearoa’s only dedicated public gallery showcasing contemporary Māori Art with changing exhibitions.
