Welcome to Northland Inc. We are the Regional Economic Development Agency for Northland. This includes our work as the Regional Tourism Organisation for Northland and the management of central government’s Regional Business Partner (RBP) Network.

  • Who do we work with?

    Northland Inc works with regional and national partners across the public and private sectors, with a common agenda to strengthen, grow and diversify Northland’s economy.

    We are privileged to work with a wide range of agencies, organisations and businesses in this mahi.

  • How are we funded?

    Northland Inc is funded by an operational contribution from the Northland Regional Council, Far North District Council and Kaipara District Council and is project funded through public and private agencies, with central government being the next largest contributor. 

    Northland Inc Limited is a Company registered under the Companies Act 1993 and is a council-controlled organisation.

  • What is our governance structure?

    The Statement of Intent is the guiding governance tool and terms of reference of Northland Inc. It defines the key performance indicators as agreed by the owner/shareholder (Northland Regional Council, Far North District Council and Kaipara District Council). The statement outlines the Directors’ accountabilities to the shareholders for corporate performance.

    The organisation has a governance board of six Directors appointed for three years or as otherwise specified from time to time by the owner/shareholders. A Chair is chosen by the Directors. Operational activity is led by the Chief Executive Officer.
