Primary sector project produces high level industry insights
‘Sector snapshots’ offering high level insights into 16 Northland primary industries have been produced by the Tuputupu Grow Northland Team at Northland NZ and are now available on our website.
Each ‘snapshot’ is an overview of a sector, covering aspects such as the partners and regulators, growers and processors, as well as an analysis of what enables the industry to succeed and the economic trends and pressures it may face.
Publishing this analysis is part of the Pūtake Whakatupu Project supported by Sustainable Food and Fibre Future funding distributed by the Ministry for Primary Industries. Pūtake Whakatupu translates to Foundations for Growth.
Launched in 2024, the aim of Pūtake Whakatupu was to identify, support and develop land use and value-add manufacturing opportunities in Te Tai Tokerau Northland. The two-year project winds up at the end of September 2026. Project findings will be published on the Northland NZ website soon after project completion.
